This week I did many activities with my host family and friends! I think that these pictures will do it justice. This first slideshow features last weekend's adventure. I ran a race! Although I haven't been a practicing runner since last cross country season, my host family, a family friend, and I ran the "Course Contre le Cancer." The event was at a rugby stadium in Lyon and there was a positive vibe throughout the day. I had so much fun getting to experience something new. My host parents are very active and work as doctors as well, so this run to raise money for cancer is something that they do every year. It was very hot out and there were some serious runners there, but I just relaxed and ran.

This second collage of pictures is the Tuesday afternoon I spent with my Brazilian exchange student friend, Fernanda. We took the public bus to the center of the city "Bellecour" and walked into numerous shops attempting to speak french to the workers. I learned that Fernanda had never tried a macaroon, so we had to get some to celebrate the one month benchmark that we have hit since arriving here.

In this last photo I had to feature my host moms wonderful jam making. Since I have arrived she has made raspberry and strawberry jam. I get to enjoy it every morning on my toast at breakfast.

Life updates about me:

- I am joining the high school journal at my school.

- I will be giving presentations in english classes about my life and activism in America (global warming, gun violence.)

- I can understand most words in french.

-I am enjoying tennis a lot.

- On September 30th I have been in France for one month! Nine left.
